Manchester City target Edinson Cavani could stay at Napoli this summer if the club shows ambition, claims his agent.
The 26-year-old striker has been linked with a move to the Premier
League after enjoying an impressive season in which he has scored 27
goals for the Serie A club.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already put a £60million
price-tag on Cavani's head but a further stumbling block could be the
player's love for the club, according to Gennaro Famiglietti.
"Cavani loves the club and the city," said Famiglietti, the Uruguayan's agent, quoted in the Daily Mirror.
"We have already said that he is ready to stay if the squad can become stronger and new signings can arrive.
"Few clubs can pay the price for Cavani and this will determine his future. There is no agreement with anybody.
"The player is ambitious and wants to win titles with Napoli."
Priority
Cavani's first priority was to get back among the goals after going
eight games without scoring - something he achieved by bagging a brace
in a 3-2 win against Atalanta on Sunday.
"The thing that pleased me most, more than my goals, was the result," Cavani told Sky Italia.
"The team is playing well and showing the desire needed for a strong finish."
As for his own future, he added: "I have always had a smile on my
face. On the pitch, I'll always do what I must do and I'll always give
my best to show I'm a true professional."
